Bernardo Cardona
Bernardo has over 30 years of professional experience as a management consultant. He is a transformational, high-energy business builder with experience in selling, leading, and executing complex projects to increase profitability and growth. As a driven strategist with an entrepreneurial spirit, Bernardo develops and executes successful strategic business initiatives that drive revenue and operational success in complex, fast-paced environments. He possesses deep knowledge of transformation drivers and implementation practices to ensure value is captured. As a trusted advisor to C-suite executives, board members, and strategic partners, he has a proven track record in building and growing high-performing businesses.

Prior to founding Sustergia, Bernardo developed his career in international consultancies such as Arthur D. Little, Charles River Associates, and Everis. He was a founding partner of ACW Management Advisors, a firm specializing in project strategy and implementation. For many years, he was a partner at Deloitte Consulting, where he led the Energy & Resources practice. He was also a partner at EY, where he co-led the Latam North Energy practice and led the Sustainability Center of Excellence and Innovation in Sustainability for Latin America.
Bernardo holds a degree in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, as well as a Master’s in Industrial Engineering, both from the Anahuac North Campus University.

César García Brena
César has over 28 years of experience, including 26 years in consulting and 19 years in the energy sector. He has implemented projects in 12 countries across the Middle East, Europe, and the Americas for clients of all sizes, from Fortune 500 companies to family-owned businesses. Throughout his career, César has assisted leading companies with organizational transformation projects, helping them adapt to changes, innovate, and optimize their portfolios. He began his career in the oil and gas industry and more recently has focused on energy transition issues, such as strategies for decarbonization, electric mobility, hydrogen, and regulations and mitigation plans for climate change.

He has been a partner in the Sustainability and Climate Change practice at Deloitte for Latin America, Director in Mexico for Arthur D. Little, Manager at Schlumberger Business Consulting in Houston, and Consultant at Charles River Associates in Boston and Bahrain. In 2010, he co-founded Bremass, a consultancy focused on organizational transformation for sustainability and the energy transition.
César was a professor of Negotiation in the MBA program at ITAM from 2010 to 2016. He holds an Economics degree from ITAM, an MBA from the University of Rochester, New York, and a diploma in Sustainable Business from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

Carlos de Regules Ruiz-Funes
Carlos is a leader in sustainability, industrial safety, environmental protection and risk management, topics where he has more than 30 years of experience. He began his career at Petróleos Mexicanos, where in 18 years of experience he served as Deputy Director of Strategic and Operational Planning, where he coordinated PEMEX's sustainable development policy and the annual social responsibility report.
In 2014, President Enrique Peña Nieto appointed him as the first Executive Director of Mexico's National Agency for Safety, Energy and Environment (ASEA), in charge of industrial safety and environmental protection of the hydrocarbons sector. Subsequently, he has been an independent consultant for several international companies and a partner in the Energy, Sustainability and Climate Change practices at Deloitte. He currently directs the Latin American Energy Organization's Methane Emissions Observatory for Latin America and the Caribbean (OLADE).
Carlos holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM), and a Master's degree in Environmental Engineering and Management from the École des Mines in Paris, France. He has studies in Public Administration at the National Institute of Public Administration of Mexico (INAP) and is associated with the LEAD Program for Advanced Studies in Environment and Development of the Colegio de México (COLMEX).

Cecilia Turriago
Cecilia's more than 25-year career in renewables and clean technologies spans Latin America, Europe, and the United States, with a track record of more than $10 billion in mergers and acquisitions, structured finance, capital raising, and private equity transactions across the equity spectrum. including an initial public offering (IPO).
Cecilia is a founding partner of Enercar, a firm specialising in M&A and structured finance for the energy transition. Prior to Enercar, she was Managing Director of Equity Investments in Latin America at GE Capital EFS. Her consulting practice includes engagements with the International Finance Corporation, the Inter-American Development Bank, and the World Bank.
Cecilia holds a master's degree in international economics from Johns Hopkins University, School of Advanced International Studies, a master's degree in International Studies from the University of Warwick, a bachelor's degree in Social Sciences from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México, and a Certificate in Sustainable Investment from Harvard Business School.

Pedro Farfán
Pedro has more than 21 years of experience advising business leaders on their most pressing growth strategies, full-cycle M&A, value creation, and business transformation challenges across industries and geographies. Throughout his career, Pedro has advised clients in multiple industries, with a special focus on Financial Services, Private Equity, Healthcare, Retail, Consumer Products and Automotive.
Originally from Mexico, Pedro spent five years in Paris serving clients in EMEA countries. Pedro has spent most of his career in the APAC region and Japan, based in Tokyo and Singapore and, more recently, in Mexico City. Pedro is a senior advisor at CxO level and is recognized for his ability to lead high-performing teams in complex multicultural environments, leveraging his ability to build relationships with clients as a trusted advisor and with team members as an inspirational mentor.
Pedro holds a degree in Information Systems Engineering from the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM) and a Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago.

Ramón Olivas Gastelum
Ramón has more than 20 years of experience in natural resource governance, energy infrastructure financing, and capacity building. He has collaborated with governments, investment funds and development organizations in Latin America, the United States, the Middle East and Europe.
Until 2023 he directed the British Government's Clean Energy Program for Mexico. He oversaw the environmental strategy of two energy infrastructure funds and collaborated on projects with global financing institutions such as IFC, IDB, CAF, KfW, and the European Investment Bank. Ramón led natural resource governance issues at Mexico's National Hydrocarbons Commission. Previously, he coordinated Mexico's accession process to the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI), where he was also a consultant and auditor on socio-environmental issues.
Ramón holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and a Master of Environmental Management from Yale University. He is an Engineer in Environmental Chemistry from the University of the Americas, Puebla (Magna Laude) and a specialist in Natural Resource Governance from the University of Oxford.

José Ruiz
José Ruiz is a Senior Executive with more than 26 years of professional experience, more than 20 years in consultancy, with high expertise in Strategy, Supply Chain, Operations, Go to Market & Growth. José has an entrepreneurial spirit and fully results-oriented, skills that he has used to help more than 40 clients to improve their growth, agility, efficiency and profitability through the execution and leadership of transformational projects in LATAM, US and Canada. He has executed and lead more than 60 projects related to corporate strategy, business model, operational model, sourcing, procurement, manufacturing, logistics, supply chain planning, sales and last mile delivery.
José has performed and led projects for industries as Natural Resources (Pulp and Paper, Cement, Oil and Gas and Steel), Consumer Goods, Retail, Agribusiness (Agriculture, Poultry, Pork, Beef and Bakery), Beverages (Alcoholic and non-Alcoholic), Home Appliances, Hospitality, Pharma, Fashion and Chemical.
José Ruiz has led different consulting practices for Mexico, Central America and Latin America North at leading global firms as Accenture, KPMG and EY, in the last two as a value chain practice lead partner with a regional role.
José has a degree in Chemical Engineering from FQ-UNAM, as well as a Master in Quality and Productivity Systems from ITESM and Rhode Island University.

Shaheer Hussam
Shaheer has focused his career on solving complex and significant problems in the energy sector and has more than 20 years of experience in strategy, business development and investment due diligence, energy efficiency and decarbonization.
His clients include Google, the World Bank, investors in energy assets, EU H2020, Mexico's Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) as well as various energy technology startups and U.S. and European companies. His recent topics include renewable energy, generative artificial intelligence, and retail energy.
Shaheer is the founder of Aetlan, an energy and analytics advisory firm based in Helsinki, Finland. He has been a speaker and moderator at industry conferences in London, Brussels, New York, Paris, Madrid, Warsaw and Tallinn. He has directed projects in several countries of the European Union, the United States and Mexico.
